On Monday, June 8, Jahn Kiønig gave a topical and thought-provoking lecture about self-preparedness at the Milk Factory on the Cape.
In a world characterized by increasing unrest, uncertainty and an increasing number of crises, Jahn focused on how each of us can be better prepared if the power goes out, the water supply is cut off or other unforeseen events occur.
Based on the recommendations of the Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness (DSB), Jahn reviewed a number of simple and practical measures that can make a big difference when the crisis hits. He showed how small investments and good planning can help families manage on their own for several days without access to regular services.
One of the highlights of the talk was the demonstration of innovative power supply solutions. Jahn showed off products that make it possible to use the battery in your own electric car as an emergency power source. With the right equipment, you can keep important appliances like freezers and refrigerators running for over two weeks – a solution that many people don't realize they already have in their garage.
The lecture generated great engagement among the participants and emphasized how important self-preparedness is in today's society. Being prepared is not about being afraid, but about being equipped to handle unforeseen situations in a safe and responsible manner.
Ukrainian Support Innlandet thanks Jahn Kiønig for an educational and inspiring lecture that gave participants both knowledge, practical advice and concrete tools to strengthen their own preparedness.
